How “Green” Are You?
Those of you that have read the blogs I’ve posted may have noticed that I am somewhat pro-green. I enjoy hiking and getting outside and enjoying some of the majesty around us. That’s one of the many reasons I like working at Battery Web.
I think more and more renewable sources of energy are a requirement for our lifestyle and for our own health. I also believe that as the technologies become more efficient they will actually save us money in the long run. I for one know I spend over $20,000 every 5 years in electricity alone and I’m pretty power conscious. (My wife would say anal.) Spending $20,000 on solar or wind would actually save me quite a bit in the long run as these systems will last far more than 5 years.
I stumbled upon a quick quiz to see what your carbon footprint is. http://www.earthlab.com/ Click on the “What’s Your Earth Impact” They have an ECP (Earth Conservation Plan) rating and will tell you how much carbon you are adding to the atmosphere.
My ECP score was 251 and looks like I’m adding 7.3 tons of carbon into the air. Feel free to find where you stand. One person can make a small difference, however if we all make a concerted effort we can make a big difference. What’s your score?
