Modern Battery Charger Technology = Smart Chargers
Over the years, the technology of battery chargers has increased dramatically. Due to the advent of very small & very economical computer chips, today’s modern chargers have the advantage of being “smart”. On older style chargers the biggest problem was overcharging the battery because the charger didn’t know when to stop. The early fix was to put a timer on the charger but that created the possibility of either under charging or overcharging if you didn’t set the timer correctly.
Modern chargers even have the ability to discern the state of charge and type of battery which takes out the guess work. Thus the performance level and longevity of the battery is significantly increased.
